Our AML and Verification Policy
We operate Buran Casino under licence 8048/JAZ2017-042 issued by Curaçao eGaming (Antillephone N.V.), and every account on our platform is subject to the anti-money-launderment and counter-terrorism-financing obligations that come with that licence. This page sets out, in plain terms, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you.
Our AML Commitment
We hold our licence through Araxio Development N.V. and answer to Curaçao eGaming (Antillephone N.V.) for our anti-money-launderment conduct. That means our compliance programme is not a formality: we risk-assess every player account, we appoint a designated compliance officer, and we report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities where the law obliges us to.
Three commitments sit behind every process on this page. We know who our players are before money leaves the platform. We monitor transaction patterns for behaviour that does not match a player's profile. And we keep records that stand up to regulatory audit, because our licence depends on it.
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification points
Verification happens at three points: at registration, where we confirm your basic details and screen your identity against sanctions and politically-exposed-person lists; at your first withdrawal, where full document checks apply; and at any later point where thresholds or transaction monitoring trigger a review.
- Registration: identity screening against sanctions, PEP and adverse-media lists.
- First withdrawal: full document verification before funds are released.
- Thresholds and triggers: any deposit or withdrawal pattern that warrants re-verification.
- Payment method changes: confirmation that any new card, e-wallet or crypto address belongs to you.
Documents we accept
We ask for three categories of document. A government-issued photo ID (passport, national identity card or driver licence) covering all four corners with the document visible and unexpired. A proof of address (utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement) dated within the last three months in your name. Proof of payment method ownership (a card photo showing the first six and last four digits, a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet address, or a bank statement showing the account holder).
How Verification Works, Step by Step
Upload everything through the secure verification portal in your account area. Email attachments are not accepted for security reasons. Processing takes up to 3 days, and in most cases we finish well inside that window. You will receive an email the moment a document is approved or if we need something clearer.
Your documents sit in encrypted storage with strictly limited access, are used solely for verification and regulatory obligations, and are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We redact or mask sensitive fields wherever the full value is not needed.
- 1. Log in and open the verification section of your account.
- 2. Upload your photo ID, proof of address and payment method evidence.
- 3. Our compliance team reviews within up to 3 days.
- 4. We email you the outcome, or request a better-quality image if needed.
- 5. Approved status lifts withdrawal holds on your account.
When We Ask for Source of Funds
Most players will never face this request. We raise it when the money moving through your account is materially larger than your profile suggests, when betting or deposit patterns change sharply, or when a specific deposit size crosses our internal risk thresholds. It is a legal obligation under our Curaçao eGaming licence, not a judgement about you.
Acceptable evidence typically includes recent payslips, a bank statement showing regular income, dividend or rental income statements, a tax return, or, for cryptocurrency, documentation of acquisition such as exchange records. If you are asked, we will tell you exactly what we need and why, and the review is confidential.
How We Monitor Transactions
Every deposit and withdrawal on Buran Casino passes automated and manual checks for patterns that could indicate money laundering: rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycles with minimal play, structuring deposits just under reporting thresholds, or third-party funding of an account. Our systems flag these patterns and our compliance team reviews each flag within defined timeframes.
We apply a same-method rule: withdrawals go back to the deposit method wherever technically possible. If you deposited by Visa, you withdraw to that same Visa; if you funded with Bitcoin, you withdraw in Bitcoin. Where a method cannot receive funds, we pay out to a verified account in your own name only, never to a third party.
Withdrawal limits on our platform are 8,000 AUD per day, 16,000 AUD per week and 32,000 AUD per month, with a minimum withdrawal of 30 AUD and processing times of 0-24 hours once verification is complete. We charge no fees on withdrawals.
| Check | What we look for | Our response |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit screening | Third-party payments, structuring, sanctioned sources | Reject or hold funds pending review |
| Withdrawal screening | Account ownership, play-to-deposit ratio | Delay release until verified |
| Ongoing monitoring | Unusual spikes, dormant-account activity | Request source of funds |
If Verification Fails or Stalls
Withdrawals are the first thing affected. We will not release funds from an unverified account, full stop. If a document is unreadable, expired or does not match your account details, we contact you with specifics and give you a reasonable window to fix it.
If documents are not provided within that window, or if we reasonably believe they are falsified, we suspend the account, freeze any pending balance and escalate to our compliance officer. Balances tied to confirmed fraudulent or third-party identity use may be forfeited and reported to the authorities. You can appeal any decision by contacting [email protected], and our compliance team reviews every appeal.
- Unverified account: withdrawals held, play still possible.
- Mismatched or unclear documents: specific re-request with a reply window.
- No response within the window: account suspension and frozen balance.
- Suspected falsified identity: escalation, possible forfeiture and reporting.
How Long We Keep Your Documents
We retain verification documents and transaction records for the period required under our Curaçao eGaming obligations, which generally means at least five years after your account closes or the last transaction is recorded. This retention is what lets us answer regulator and law-enforcement requests, and it protects you too, since a historic record of legitimate play resolves disputes quickly.
After the retention period, documents are securely destroyed. If you would like a copy of the data we hold on you at any point, contact [email protected] and we will action your request under our data-subject access process, available 24/7 through live chat or email.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to verify my account before playing?
No. You can register, deposit and play with basic screening in place. Full document verification is required before your first withdrawal, and at any point our monitoring triggers a review.
How long does verification take?
Up to 3 days from upload. Most checks finish faster, and we email you the outcome either way. Withdrawals are processed within 0-24 hours once verification is complete.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
We apply a same-method withdrawal rule wherever technically possible. If a deposit method cannot receive payouts, funds go to a verified account in your own name, never to a third party.
Why am I being asked to prove the source of my funds?
When transaction sizes or patterns do not match your profile, our Curaçao eGaming licence obliges us to confirm the funds are legitimate. Payslips, bank statements or tax documents usually satisfy the request, and it stays confidential.
